History
Rajagopal Polytechnic College is the vision and creation of Late Shri.B.Rajagopal Naidu, great philanthropist of Gudiyattam. He founded the institution in August 1960. It was a 26 lakh Project, sponsored by Rajagopal Educational Trust during the second five year plan of Government of India. The tradition and work culture of the founder is being carried on from strength after his demise in 1973, by his three dynamic sons Thiru.R.Srihari(Chairman), Thriu R.Paranthaman (Treasurer) and Thriu.R.Raghuraman(Trustee).

Infrastructure
The Polytechnic College has 5 spacious buildings in a green and serene atmosphere with total plinth area of 5343 m2 housing the workshops, Electrical, Electronics and Civil Engineering laboratories and lecture rooms. The laboratories are equipped with the state of art of modern equipments with the assistance of world bank.

The polytechnic college is located in a 38.73 acre plot on Gudiyattam-Katpadi road at about 2kms from Gudiyattam bus station in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu.The nearest Railway station is Gudiyattam R.S about 3kms from the college.
